4 questions to Thymo @ Nedap Security Management
Hi! I’m Thymo, and I’m an online marketeer at Nedap Security Management. At the moment, I’m also studying Communication and Multimedia Design at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem. I’ve been working at Nedap for about a year now. I started out as an intern, but after 6 months, I was enjoying it so much that I stayed on as a student worker. I just started my thesis at Nedap Security Management, so I’m in the final phase of my study.
Why did you decide to work at Nedap?
I chose Nedap because I was looking for an innovative company. I’m from the east of the Netherlands and I made a list of innovative companies in my area. Nedap came out on top. Then, I checked if they had something suitable for me, and it just clicked. What I really like about Nedap is that you can pursue every opportunity to develop yourself. If you believe in something, you’re allowed to really go for it.
Can you describe a typical working day?
Every working day starts with coffee. It’s just something I need. Then, I check my schedule to see if I have any appointments. On a standard working day, I have one or two appointments with different colleagues.
As an online marketeer, I also have operational tasks. That means hands-on work and dealing with tasks needing attention at that time. Another thing worth mentioning is that all Nedap marketeers meet up once a month to discuss what’s going on and what’s getting results, and simply share knowledge and information.
“If you believe in something, you're allowed to really go for it here.”
What do you want to achieve at Nedap?
What we’d like to see in our business unit is more online visibility. The whole team works very hard year-round, and ultimately achieving a result is then both a team goal and a personal goal.
What does no one know about you?
I took part in the Red Bull Knock Out in 2018. So I can justifiably say I rode my dirt bike on the beach of Scheveningen under the pier. And I finished the race too, so that’s something really cool I achieved.
Which way are you heading?
At Nedap, we’re not so keen on fixed routes: we prefer to challenge you to shape your own future.
