Healthcare
One of Nedap newest products is the Nedap Luna: a day calendar for elderly people with - an incipient form - of dementia. Since this is, besides several software solutions, our only hardware product within Nedap Healthcare, we would like to show it to the customers and visitors who come to our department. Therefore, we would like to develop a test setup that demonstrates the product at the same time.
The test setup will need to be able to act as a continuous test for the Nedap Luna. Currently, testing for a release is still mostly done manually, which takes a lot of time. By building an automated tester, we can speed up this process and improve its quality. Preferably with a lot of moving parts, so that it will appeal well to the imagination as a demonstration. A simple example for inspiration is Ikea's Poang tester (tinyurl.com/ikeatester), which simulates someone sitting down and shows on a counter how many times they have done so.
So in summary, we are looking for a student to develop a test setup for the Nedap Luna that:
1) Continuously tests the main functionality of the Luna for stability;
2) And that can stand for inspiration for visitors and customers in our department.
Your team
Team Luna consists of 5 people from different disciplines: Hardware, embedded software, server side software, sales and business development. Some of the team members also do work for other teams. We are a young team and work in the office most of the time, some occasionally work a day at home. Once every two weeks we have a formal meeting to get everyone on the same page, the rest of the time we consult mostly informally throughout the week when we sit together. We make the Luna a success together and that is reflected in the cheerful and constructive atmosphere.
Our offer
As an intern or graduate student at Nedap, you can work both remotely and at our cool campus in Groenlo. Of course, this will be done in consultation with your team and what the possibilities are will depend on your work, but the choice is yours. You also get plenty of room to take the lead in your assignment. Personal leadership and taking personal responsibility are central and as far as we are concerned, that also applies to students! You will work with enthusiastic professionals who have a lot of knowledge, experience and expertise and from whom you can learn a lot.
To thank you for your efforts, every six months we organize a 'Nedap Studentday' especially for you. A super fun day with all the other interns, graduates and working students at Nedap. We also offer you a decent monthly internship or graduation allowance. For a full-time internship or graduation assignment, you'll receive between €325 and €650 per month. And if both parties like it, we may even offer you a job. Many students have stuck around after their assignment!
Required experience and skills
As a student within the Luna team at Nedap Healthcare, you are able to work proactively and independently:
- You are currently following a HBO/WO education in the direction of Electrical Engineering;
- You have knowledge of and experience with Embedded Software;
- You have a good command of both the Dutch and English language.
