Mark Banierink @ Nedap Security Management

Hello, I’m Mark. I’m a Software Developer and have worked at Nedap since 2016.

Role within Nedap?

I’m a backend developer at the AtWork proposition of Nedap Security Management. This is a new proposition delivering Physical Access Control as a service. My role, and everybody’s role on the team, is to contribute to the codebase and decide on the architecture, programming languages and used technology.

What’s your code?

Most of our services are in Java and Kotlin. Our frontend is built with Angular, but I usually don’t work on that. Because of some technical advantages, we also have some TypeScript, Go and Lua in our services. It’s nice to try something new sometimes.

What attracted you to Nedap?

I really like the freedom, flexibility, and responsibility at Nedap. The freedom to work (and take time off, of course) whenever it suits me, but also the responsibility that comes with it. This freedom and responsibility are also reflected in the technological choices that we can make ourselves.

Nedap ambitions?

We have just started with the AtWork proposition and rolled out the first customers. The ambition is to scale and to turn it into a success. Additionally, I have started as coach for Nedap University (recommended!), so I intent to develop myself in that area as well.
