Advisor Public Affairs Spectrum Regulation

  • Location Groenlo
  • Business unit General

Nedap is a major global player in RFID technology, where we supply both hardware and software products. RFID technology uses license-free radio spectrum in the ISM bands, and because spectrum is scarce, many technologies are competing for the same bands.

The more spectrum is available, the better we can make the technology work. However, other technologies are competing for the same. The distribution of the available frequency space and the restrictions and opportunities attached to the use of these spectra are determined in international consultation and standardization organizations. As Nedap, we want to be aware of this decision-making, and where possible, influence it. In any case, it is important that these organizations are well informed about how the frequencies are used today, and what the consequences of decisions are.

As Advisor Public Affairs, you are the link between the standardization organizations and the internal organization. You ensure that Nedap colleagues are well informed about what is going on in international standards. They provide input on possible improvements and indicate what risks a change might entail. You build an international network of people with similar roles - both within RFID technology and competing technoogies.

You are able to understand (up to a certain level) what conversations are about, and translate them into possible opportunities or threats for Nedap propositions.

Concrete examples of tasks are:

  • You participate in consultations within ETSI, CEPT, RAIN RFID, FCC and RED-CA, among others. These are both video meetings, as well as face to face on location – which can be all over the globe.
  • You build an (informal) network of international specialists in the same field.
  • You are well informed about Nedaps requirements for improving our technologies.
  • You are aware of possible threats and challenges to the RFID spectrum, and can value them.

Your team

The position interfaces with all development departments within Nedap that deal with these technologies. Therefore, you will be supported by the technical experts from the various development departments. You will also maintain close contact with the relevant product managers and other stakeholders.

Our offer

We find it important to offer our talents the best working conditions. This means that, in addition to an excellent reward package, you get the freedom to spend your time in such a way that you get the most out of yourself and what you do. We don't keep track of holidays - you decide when you need a break!

We organize the financial part of your package just as well. In addition to your salary and holiday pay, Nedap offers a 13th month, a profit sharing scheme, the option of participating in stock shares and an attractive pension scheme.

But above all, we invest in your personal development! Nedap takes your development very seriously. We do not give you a development budget, but we make sure that you get everything you need to develop yourself in the direction you want. We offer an extensive introduction program and a personal development process in which we look at your potential to grow within Nedap.

Required experience and skills

You are technically savvy and have strong communication skills. You enjoy building an international network and can cope well with cultural differences. You are a good listener, but at the same time a persuasive speaker. You feel comfortable in a free role, where the tasks are not very tightly defined. In addition, you can build bridges between people with different opinions.

In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • A completed HBO or/and WO education, preferably in a technical direction.
  • Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
  • You have experience working in an international environment.
  • You have technical affinity (preferably knowledge of (wireless) radio systems
