Your work is very diverse. With your technical knowledge you support our business partners and end customers in solving all kinds of technical problems. In addition, you will promote the independence of our business partners through training and on-site support. As a product specialist you are responsible for developing your own knowledge about our access control solution. You do this by testing new functionalities and providing input for their documentation. You also have an advisory role in providing technical support in our sales processes. The area to be supported covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 

Your team

In the role of Technical Support Engineer you will be part of the Technical Support Centre of Nedap Security Management. The team consists of people who work from our office in Potsdam, our head office in the Netherlands and various other locations in Europe and are spread all over the world. As part of the team we think it is important that you are an open-minded colleague with good communication skills. It goes without saying that you actively support good coordination with and among colleagues. Nedap is a flat organization and therefore offers a lot of freedom in your work and planning. This makes independence and personal responsibility very important.

Required experience and skills

For this position you must have a technical understanding. You should have knowledge of networks, IT infrastructures, databases and software, as well as hardware. You should have a passion for customer service and enjoy helping customers. It would be an advantage if you already have experience in customer service / technical support. A good basis for this function as a Technical Support Engineer is an education in IT or a similar field. However, it is important that you have an affinity for IT and technology.

You have knowledge about:

  • networks, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routers and ports;
  • Profound IT knowledge, databases, software/hardware;
  • Electrical engineering;
  • Knowledge of access control and security would be an advantage;
  • Fluent German spoken and written;
  • English skills (in company);
  • Customer first mentality / customer oriented;
  • Selfstarter and working independently;
  • Good communicative properties;
  • Organized and structured working method;
  • Hands on mentality;
  • Stress-resistant.

You enjoy communicating with people, are an active listener and recognize optimization potential in our business partners and customers. Due to your technical background, you are able to keep track of things at all times and to push ahead with troubleshooting. Even in difficult situations you work confidently and goal-oriented.  A professional appearance towards the customer and in the team, as well as entrepreneurial thinking and acting are required. The job also requires a certain amount of willingness to travel to the countries mentioned.
