As Embedded Software Developer you are the Firmware specialist within the Product Engineering group. So you are the point of contact for your immediate colleagues in the Firmware area. You make sure that the iSense system stays safe and up-to-date by doing regular firmware updates. iSense has an Embedded linux on an ARM core i.c.m. an FPGA. Together with your colleagues you look at what new things can be developed on the existing products and you are responsible for the software piece.
The Product Engineering group takes care of all existing products independently as much as possible. These products sometimes need to be adapted due to new or changed requirements. The iSense line is currently our newest line in the market. Besides the adjustments of existing products, new developments in the iSense line are realized to which you contribute. You are in daily contact with the colleagues from Product Engineering. You are the Firmware specialist within the team but there is plenty of room to spar with colleagues from the Firmware team. You also have regular contact with colleagues from other teams such as Hardware, Services and Product Management.

Your responsibilities include:
- Working on all pieces of embedded software of our products. This is very broad. From OE core OS, Java virtual machine, network, update mechanics et cetera;
- Developing new features of iSense;
- Extending and improving existing features of iSense with an eye for product and code quality;
- Getting your direct colleagues up to speed on firmware and software developments;
- Developing tools to automate work within the group.
Your team
There is almost no team more dynamic than Product Engineering when it comes to types of products they come into contact with. Older generation, latest generation and future generation products. The team currently consists of about five colleagues. Four of the colleagues are very broadly oriented. These have knowledge of both hardware and software. They can pick up all common topics. There is one Analog/RF specialist on the team. He can really go into depth, exactly where the other colleagues stop.As a new colleague, you are the second specialist on the team, but for (mostly Embedded) software. You compliment the team into a balanced team consisting of six people.

As an Embedded Software Developer in the Product Engineering team, you are the specialist in the field of software. This means that a high degree of independence and self-reliance is important. In addition, you can work well together and also seek cooperation with colleagues outside the team.In addition, you recognize yourself in the following:
- You are a specialist in (Embedded) Software and have working experience with Java;
- Preferably you have done a relevant study such as Embedded Systems or Electrical Engineering;
- It is a great advantage if you have knowledge of one or more of the following languages: C#, C, C++, Rust and/or Python;
- You have a good command of the English language and preferably speak Dutch.
