Field Application Engineer

As a Field Application Engineer at Nedap you will be part of the EAS RFID Deployment team and will be an important link to our Customers, responsible for delivering the proof of concept phase of a project. The Field Application Engineer will work with the Customer and other Retail teams to ensure the Nedap solutions can be successfully integrated with those clients and deliver the benefits as expected.

The Field Application Engineer works with an international (predominantly European) Customer base (example of customers are H&M, G-star, Superdry and Footlocker). You will work closely with internal Stakeholders, such as Sales, Product Development and Technical Operations and also our Partner network who are responsible for completing the Hardware installations.

Your main responsibilities are

  • Working both remotely and in Store with Customer’s to understand their store process flows from point of sale to exit control;
  • Supporting the Customer through their proof of concept phase using in-depth knowledge of RFID systems;
  • Obtaining and understanding Customer requirements so product and services packages can be tailored to meet the Customer needs;
  • Performing data analysis tasks as required for each project
  • Act as the feedback link between the Customer and internal teams to ensure solutions can be developed/scaled to meet the Customer requirements;
  • Be an ambassador for Nedap Retail products; clearly communicating the capabilities and boundaries of the Retail Product catalogue;
  • Providing knowledge and advise on RFID technology in general. 

 

Your team

You will join a team of Field Application Engineers and Project Managers who support on RFID EAS deployments from the initial contact phase through to rollout.  Reporting to the Team Captain, you will work alongside colleagues with technical, operational and engineering backgrounds who all bring an in-depth knowledge of Customer store environments and EAS systems in general. 

The team are mainly based remotely from different locations in Europe but connect frequently and have regular sessions together in our HQ in Groenlo, NL.  With an on-site restaurant, coffee bars and relaxed meeting areas there are always plenty of opportunities to catch up with the wider teams as well.  Alongside these team sessions, there are also opportunities to support in events organized to showcase our products and new developments to Customers and the Partner network.

Required experience and skills

The ideal candidate is a team player with a Customer-orientated attitude and technical skills. With strong analytical and problem -solving skills, you can find solutions independently for every situation. You have the ability to multi-task, adhere to timelines and perform well under pressure. Project Management qualification or proven working experience within a project management environment. Due to our customer base, you must be able to travel, mostly within Europe, as required.

Besides that, you have

  • At least a Bachelor's level of working and thinking;
  • Five or more years' experience working in Information Technology or closely related industries;
  • Good knowledge and experience of network programs (proxy server, HP/HTTPS) and the physical configuration of IT systems;
  • Project Management qualification or proven working experience within a project management environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience of RFID technology and systems is a plus;
  • Proficiency English is a must, proficiency in Spanish or Dutch is a plus.
