Looking for a challenge, have affinity with the livestock industry and experience in business development? And are you excited to work partly from North America and partly from the Netherlands, or perhaps even for 6 months on location in North America? Then we are looking for you!
Our Livestock Management Innovation team is looking for a Business Developer, who wants to take on the challenge of creating a new proposition for monitoring finishing pigs based on cutting-edge technology. The innovation team has created a concept that utilizes computer vision that is now ready to be trialed in the North American market. As we are gearing up, you will focus on implementation and validation of the concept working closely together with actual users. At this stage in the development, your input will shape the MVP.
Additionally, you will develop the business model that is most suitable for this revolutionary technology.
To be most effective you speak the language of the professional pig producer to truly understand the current challenges. You possess the skills to look beyond traditional solutions and capture the value of a new generation of technology.
Responsibilities:
  • You work closely with the end users of the pilot farms;
  • You investigate where the product can be improved;
  • You have an important contribution in determining the Business value of the product;
  • You set up a business model;
  • You work closely with the computer vision engineer and other important stakeholders in improving the product;
  • You are the first point of contact for the end users of the pilot farms.

Your team

You will be working in the innovation team. The team is responsible for identifying new market opportunities and upcoming technologies that form the basis of our future portfolio.

Required experience and skills

  • Master's Degree preferred, Bachelor of Science Degree (preferably a focus in Animal Science or Business Science)
  • You have at least one year of relevant experience in business development;
  • Proven experience in the pig industry;
  • You are a pioneer, independent thinker that can look beyond the conventional way of working;
  • You have a large sense of responsibility and can deal well with rapid changes in direction;
  • Fluent in English, both in writing and in speech;
  • Willingness to be stationed in North America for initially 6 months.
