Security Engineer

What are you going to do?

Are you passionate about Security and energised by its development? And do you want to raise awareness of information security and privacy among Nedap colleagues within Nedap - Security by supervising awareness campaigns? We are looking for a Security Engineer to help increase Nedap's resilience against cyber threats. 

In the role of Security Engineer in the Data Protection Team, you will ensure that the organisation remains resilient to external threats. You are an important stakeholder in the risk management, change management and incident management processes. Together with your colleagues, you assess whether our processes meet the international standards required by the market and how we can constantly improve them. You also advise the software development teams on, among other things, secure coding and pentesting. In addition, you report on the implementation of measures, security incidents and periodically evaluate the policy frameworks. 

You will also help to raise awareness of information security and privacy among employees within Security. You do this by supervising awareness campaigns and training sessions aimed at ensuring compliance and promoting safe behaviour. 

Furthermore, as a team member of the Data Protection Team, you will support a variety of privacy issues throughout Security. You will oversee careful handling of personal data, perform assessments to identify risks, report and resolve privacy incidents and design practical arrangements. You also give solicited and unsolicited advice and make proposals to reduce privacy risks.

You will work in an inspiring and international working environment. You work together with a direct Information Security & Privacy Officer with whom you will shape the Data Protection Team. In addition, you cooperate a lot with all colleagues within Security (R&D, sales, marketing teams). You are also in contact with other Information Security & Privacy Officers within Nedap.

Required experience and skills

We are looking for a Security Engineer with a related background/education and at least 3 years' work experience in a similar role within an enterprise environment with a broad IT landscape. In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:
  • You have knowledge of security-related frameworks (e.g. Nist, Mitre), security techniques and protocols;
  • You have experience in drafting and developing security policy documents;
  • You have knowledge of and experience with pentesting / ethical hacking;
  • You have a good command of the English language.
Furthermore, you are able to take a broad view of IT and Security. You can also advise on suitable solutions and implement them where necessary. Are you also pragmatic, do you know how to involve people in (change) processes? And do you have new ideas? Super! We are always looking for ways to improve our processes or things to learn from. 

Good to know: We work hybrid. Working from home is definitely possible, but we also work together in the office several days a week.
