What are you going to do?
Are you passionate about Security and energised by its development? And do you want to raise awareness of information security and privacy among Nedap colleagues within Nedap - Security by supervising awareness campaigns? We are looking for a Security Engineer to help increase Nedap's resilience against cyber threats.In the role of Security Engineer in the Data Protection Team, you will ensure that the organisation remains resilient to external threats. You are an important stakeholder in the risk management, change management and incident management processes. Together with your colleagues, you assess whether our processes meet the international standards required by the market and how we can constantly improve them. You also advise the software development teams on, among other things, secure coding and pentesting. In addition, you report on the implementation of measures, security incidents and periodically evaluate the policy frameworks.
You will also help to raise awareness of information security and privacy among employees within Security. You do this by supervising awareness campaigns and training sessions aimed at ensuring compliance and promoting safe behaviour.
Furthermore, as a team member of the Data Protection Team, you will support a variety of privacy issues throughout Security. You will oversee careful handling of personal data, perform assessments to identify risks, report and resolve privacy incidents and design practical arrangements. You also give solicited and unsolicited advice and make proposals to reduce privacy risks.
Your responsibilities
- Strengthen resilience: Strengthen Nedap's resilience to cyber threats and support risk, change and incident management.
- Awareness: Supervise awareness campaigns and training to increase information security and privacy awareness.
- Advising: Advise software development teams on secure coding and pentesting.
- Assess and optimise: Assess and improve processes according to international security standards.
- Reporting: Report on security measures, incidents and evaluate policy frameworks.
- Ownership security and privacy: Supporting on privacy issues, performing risk assessments and advising on privacy risk mitigation.

Required experience and skills
As a Security Engineer, you are able to take a broad view of IT and Security. You can recommend suitable solutions and set them up where necessary. You are also pragmatic, know how to take people along in (change) processes and involve them in them. And do you have new ideas? Great! We are always looking for ways to improve our processes or things to learn from.
In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:
- Experience: You have at least 3 years' work experience in a similar role within an Enterprise environment with a broad IT landscape
- Frameworks: You have knowledge of security-related frameworks (e.g. Nist, Mitre), security techniques and protocols;
- Skills: You have experience in drafting and developing security policy documents;
- Skills: You have knowledge and experience of pentesting / ethical hacking;
- Language Skills: You have a good command of the English language.
Good to know: We work hybrid. Working from home is certainly possible, but we also work together in the office several days a week.
