Senior Java Developer – Dossier Tribe

In your role as Senior Java Developer at Nedap Healthcare, you will contribute to better care and new technical possibilities based on open standards. You will actively contribute to the development direction of the client file. You will be responsible for taking on projects from the start and bringing them to a successful conclusion. Here you can think of: Making data models available in simplified form via APIs, developing Query tooling on dynamic Json data, collaborating on the international openEHR standard, and implementing it in open-source tooling. Your team

You will work in a small and informal team of Java developers. We work closely together, and we are involved in each other's projects. There is a good work-life balance, working hours are not fixed and it is up to everyone how they combine best with their private lives. We have people who enjoy working every day at the office in Groenlo, but also people who participate most days from home. Occasionally, we organize a team outing or an online board game night. We also have a lot of contact with other colleagues, both work-related but also for e.g. a football match, a game of table tennis, a ski trip or a "Magic the Gathering evening". 

Your team

Building - based on Java, Spring Boot, MySQL and Ebean - a backend application for the structured storage and search of medical data according to the openEHR standard. In doing so, we use parser generators and metamodels for, among other things, the validation of this data. We also provide tooling and support to various front-end teams that interface with our backend. You also have contact with other teams within Nedap, business partners within the Netherlands and the international openEHR community. This, as part of the "Our Suite" used throughout the Netherlands. You will mainly work together with Software Developers within the Dossier tribe and in addition, you will work closely with other teams within Nedap, business partners within the Netherlands and the international openEHR community.

What you can count on in the role of Senior Java Developer:

  • The following salary scale: scale 9: min. €3,886/max. €5,374 per month, for a full working week of 38 hours.
  • You will receive a thirteenth month, share in profit-sharing, which you can also use to obtain Nedap share certificates, and we offer an attractive pension scheme.
  • 100% reimbursement for travel by public transport.

Required experience and skills

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with several years of experience in (backend) application development. You have good technical skills, and you can actively participate in discussions about future developments and architecture of the application. You also maintain contact with other teams on new projects.

In addition, you possess:

  • You have a relevant working and thinking level.
  • You have several years of work experience as a Java Developer.
  • You have knowledge of setting up and optimizing database structures and queries in MySQL.
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot or similar web frameworks and knowledge of OpenEHR is a plus.
  • You are familiar with Ebean or similar ORMs.
  • Hands-on team player with good communication skills.
  • Good command of the English language (and preferably also Dutch).
  • You enjoy thinking about the international OpenEHR standard and Open Source Tooling.
  • You have experience implementing "query languages", parser generators such as ANTLR, meta models (and code generation).
For good cooperation and knowledge sharing, it is important for this position to be sufficiently on location in Groenlo. You are therefore willing to be present at our head office in Groenlo for a number of days a week.
