What are you going to do?
At Nedap Healthcare, we create technology that makes healthcare more human. We are building a software suite, the Ons® Suite, that helps healthcare professionals do their work with care — not behind a screen, but with the people who need care.
As a Senior UX Designer in our team, you will be a driving force behind the design system of the Ons Suite. You will work on the further development of our UX guidelines, patterns and components, with an eye for accessibility and scalability. In addition, you will also delve into the generic functionalities (such as searching, navigating, tasks, handling notifications) that are used daily by thousands of healthcare professionals. You will think strategically about how we can make that experience more intuitive, consistent and human — and you will also translate that into concrete design work.
You will work closely with other UX designers, developers, product owners and stakeholders in the various tribes. In doing so, you will be a connecting link: someone who builds bridges between disciplines and helps determine a common course with empathy and conviction.
Your responsibilities
- Design: Translating design principles and patterns into concrete, reusable solutions within the Ons® Suite.
- Active collaboration: Working with UX designers, developers and product owners to arrive at supported design decisions.
- Validation: Conducting or supervising user tests to validate assumptions.
- Review: Conducting reviews and monitoring the quality of designs within the various tribes.
- Creating consensus: Involving stakeholders in design choices and consistent UX guidelines.
Your team
As a Senior UX Designer, you will be part of a small, close-knit UX team within the Generics tribe, where we brainstorm, sketch and laugh together. Within the Generics tribe, we work on the building blocks of the Ons® Suite: generic functionalities such as search, navigation, tasks and AI solutions. We ensure that the foundation is solid — for all healthcare domains and for all our users. This includes patterns, systems, and guidelines that guarantee consistency, accessibility, and quality.

Required experience and skills
You are a thinker in patterns and systems, but also someone with an eye for detail. You have a strong design eye — for colour, composition, spacing and balance — and you understand how these elements come together in a consistent product. You bring curiosity, enthusiasm and calmness to the team. You are not only strong in your contact with immediate colleagues, but also in connecting with other teams, UX Leads and Tribe Leads. You enjoy inspiring colleagues and introducing them to UX principles. You dare to ask questions, show vulnerability and consciously choose your moments to take action.
In addition, you recognise yourself in the following:
- Work experience: You have extensive experience (approximately 5 years) in UX.
- Design Systems / Project Management: Either you have experience in setting up Design Systems, or you have experience in leading UX projects. Experience in both is obviously a big plus.
- Design thinking: With design thinking (triple diamond), you know how to combine your creativity, empathy and analytical skills to design people-oriented solutions.
- Language skills: You speak excellent English, and it is a big plus if you also speak Dutch.
Good to know: You are available for 32-38 hours per week. Hybrid (remote) working is common at Nedap, and you and your team coordinate your working hours to achieve a good work/life balance. Preferably, you are present at our campus in Groenlo at least once a week.
