What are you going to do?
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our Nedap Tech Platform team. As part of a collaborative group spread across Europe and North America, you will modernize and maintain a diverse infrastructure that includes physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud-based environments.Our infrastructure features container platforms, databases, observability stacks, and storage systems. As Site Reliability Engineer you will focus on automating legacy systems, improving infrastructure, and supporting the web services that drive Nedap’s innovative products.

Your responsibilities
- Maintain and Modernize Infrastructure: Manage physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud environments, while driving modernization efforts for legacy systems.
- Enhance and Develop Platforms: Build and optimize container platforms, databases, observability stacks, and storage systems to ensure scalability and performance.
- Automate for Reliability: Streamline workflows with automation to improve system reliability and minimize manual intervention.
- Collaborate on Service Delivery: Work with application teams to deliver scalable, high-performing managed services.
- Establish Monitoring Systems: Design and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure uptime and system health.
- Champion DevOps Culture: Promote best practices and innovation to align infrastructure with business goals, fostering collaboration across teams.

Required experience and skills
As Site Reliability Engineer you’ll wil join a team where your ability to connect, adapt, and stay organized matters as much as your technical skills. With professionals across time zones, empathy, clear communication, and proactive engagement keep us thriving. As this position includes on-call duties, effective planning and time management are crucial to balance your responsibilities while ensuring seamless collaboration with teammates.Technical skills we’re looking for:
- On-premise & Cloud: Experience with cloud and on-premise environments, database management (e.g., MySQL, Elasticsearch), and a basic understanding of software development.
- Web application infrastructure: Hands-on experience with high-volume web application infrastructure, especially with container or microservice architecture.
- Platforms & Tools: Expertise in container platforms (e.g., Nomad), automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions), and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Observability tools: Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., DataDog, VictoriaMetrics).
- Language skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
