What are you going to do?

As a Security Engineer, you’ll contribute to strengthening the security of our software solutions. Using frameworks such as SAMM and penetration testing, you help uncover and resolve vulnerabilities. You translate technical findings into concrete improvements and actively contribute to building a secure software landscape. 

Your responsibilities

  • Explore: Investigate applications and processes for security risks and map existing approaches.
  • Test: Perform penetration tests (under supervision) and learn to work with tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP.
  • Improve: Contribute ideas for technical measures and process improvements.
  • Document: Record test results and risk analyses, and help create new guidelines.
  • Collaborate: Work with security engineers and developers to embed security into our software development.

Your team

As a Security Engineer, you’ll be part of the Data Protection Team within Nedap Healthcare. This team focuses on the technical aspects of information security within Nedap. Together, we build secure applications and infrastructures through ethical hacking, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement. You’ll join a small and dedicated team where knowledge sharing and experimentation are key.

Required experience and skills

You are a curious student who loves to dive deep into complex systems and won’t stop until you fully understand how something works. You enjoy the freedom to experiment while also working together with others to improve security.

You are analytically strong, proactive, and take initiative. You combine technical curiosity with a critical mindset and value work that makes an impact.

You bring:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Computer Science, Informatics, or Cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge or interest in ethical hacking and security testing.
  • Tools & Frameworks: Familiarity with tools or frameworks such as OWASP, Burp Suite, Metasploit, or Python(a plus).
  • Availability: Approximately two days per week, with at least one day spent on our campus in Groenlo.
